A resident of Springfield for many years, he was born near Carlinville, the son of Frank and Kate Gerber Leefers.
He married Wilma Barger Sept. 29, 1940.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a clothing salesman at Myers Brothers.
Mr. Leefers was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, the Riverton Union Lodge 786, AF&AM and the Abraham Lincoln Chapter OES.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma B.; one son, Robert L. Leefers of Pawnee; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Louella) Konneker of Carlinville and Mrs. Charles (Marie) Klaus of Girard; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren.
Services were at Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home.
Burial was in Mayfield Cemetery at Carlinville.
