She was born on October 13, 1914 in Madison, South Dakota to the late Leonard and Mary (McGillivray) Martin. Helen was a graduate of Madison High School and Eastern State University. She taught in the Madison, South Dakota area for six years. She was a long time secretary for Lamb Glass and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Helen enjoyed books, crossword puzzles and needlepoint. She was a veteran serving in the United States Army during WWII.
She is survived by her nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Everett Chrisman; her sister Eva O’Hara; and two brothers, Lester and Harlan Martin.
A graveside service will be held on November 19 in Brandon Cemetery . Military honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
