Ralph E. Bancroft, Sr., 78, of Sanford, Fla. died peacefully on November 18, 2016 at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fla. He was born on February 27, 1938 in Marinette, Wis.

Ralph is survived by his children: Kathleen (Michael) Sellenheim of Greenfield, Wis., Ralph (Charmaine) Bancroft of West Bend, Wis., and Susan (Steve Turner) Bancroft of Sanford, Fla.;
his grandchildren: Joseph (Elaine) and Kerry Bell, Candace (Travis) LaBarre and Justin Bancroft, Nicole and Matthew Lenz, and Melissa, Amanda and Rebecca Mahoney.
He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren: Mason, Harrison, Heidi, Roran, Mikayla, Wesley and Autumn.
He was the brother of Eugene (Mary Lou) Bancroft of Peshtigo, WI and Kenneth (Grace) Bancroft of Little Suamico, WI.
He was also the brother-in-law of Diana Radomski, Raymond (Sandy) Hasse, Sandra (Gene) Swenty, Richard Hasse, Cynthia (David) Swette, and Edward (Jean) Hasse.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (nee Hasse) on November 15, 2007. They were married 48 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Victoria (nee Shehow).

Ralph was considered a "Forgotten Soldier" and received an honorable discharge from the National Guard in 1959.

He moved from Peshtigo to Milwaukee to attend MATC and then married Barbara on June 20, 1959.
Ralph retired from maintenance engineering in 2000, and worked at several manufacturing plants in Southeast Wisconsin including: Square D Company in Milwaukee, Gossen Corporation in Glendale, Molded Rubber and Plastic Corporation in Butler, and Molded Dimensions in Port Washington, Wis. He loved watching Packer football, deer hunting, and camping in Wisconsin, and he loved being with family at Christmas. He moved to Florida in 2002 living in Longwood, Homosassa Springs and lastly in Sanford.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26th at the Thielen Funeral Home, 1403 Newberry Ave., Marinette, Wis. from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a memorial service to follow. Burial will be at the Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
