Shirley Lucille Donnelly of Lexington passed away on October 4, 2012 due to complications from Leiomyosarcoma. Shirley was born on June 12, 1924 in Cambridge to Earl and Viola. She was the wife of the late Edward Donnelly (married in 1949), and also predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Donnelly. She is survived by her Son, Michael and his wife Rosie, her grandson Joseph and his wife Therese, and her great-grandchildren Angelia and Jaxton, all of Los Angeles, her nieces and their families Wendy B. of Brattleboro VT, Roberta H. of Southlake TX, Stephanie B. of Brimfield, and Martha W. of Medway. Shirley attended the Mass General Hospital Nursing Program through the Cadet Nursing Corp and graduated 1947. She had many passions in life including traveling, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, and scrabble. But what made her smile the most was spending time with friends and family, especially her grand nieces/ nephews and great grandchildren. She will be missed. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington, Friday, October 26 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday October 25 from 5pm to 8pm. Private interment Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
