William H. “Bill” Cornwell, age 70 of the Thompson Valley community in Tazewell, VA died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, VA. Born August 13, 1946 in Tazewell County, VA, he was a son of the late Hallie Robert and Mary Katherine Dillow Cornwell. He attended Tazewell Family Worship Center and was a US Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Beth Vilacha; brother, Albert Brittain “Buck” Cornwell and sister, Vicie Vanhoozer.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Cornwell; daughters, Marcy Bandy of Tazewell, VA and Isabella Vilacha of Whitewood, VA; sisters, Mamie McClead of Chilhowie, VA, Jenny Ann Cornwell of Bluefield, VA, Mary Richardson, Florence Cornwell, and America Delila Vanhoozer all of Tazewell, VA; granddaughters, Haleigh and Kaleigh Bandy; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Tazewell Family Worship Center where funeral services will be conducted at 8 PM with Pastor Lawrence Hayes officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday, December 2, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Thompson Valley, VA. Those planning to attend graveside services are asked to meet at Tazewell Family Worship Center by 1:30 on Friday for procession to the cemetery.
