Businessman. Roger Enrico's leadership of Pepsi-Cola during the mid-1980s broke new ground in marketing. In 1983, he signed Michael Jackson to a landmark marketing deal that made advertising history and set the new standard for celebrity campaigns. This move introduced the world to the “Choice of a New Generation” and vaulted Pepsi to new heights. He asked consumers to take the "Pepsi Challenge" by taste testing Coke & Pepsi side by side. Pepsi consistently won the challenges and Coca-Cola became so concerned that in 1987 they introduced "New Coke." Enrico responded by taking out full page ads in major newspapers declaring victory. He later went on to become Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo. Following his retirement from PepsiCo in 2001, Roger served as chairman of the board for DreamWorks Animation and was a board member of the National Geographic Society, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the American Film Institute.
