LINCOLN — Donn Howard McCashland, 78, of Lincoln died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at his home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sheridan Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of the arrangements.

He died surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 11, 1938, to Harold and Florence (Brower) McCashland in Geneva. He married Cynthia Reinsch on Aug. 14, 1960, in Ohiowa.

Donn had many jobs in his lifetime: truck driver, motel manager of the Goldenrod Motel in Geneva and later at the newly built Palmer Inn near York. In 1974, he and his family relocated to Lincoln, where he worked at Lincoln Equipment and Stephenson Truck Repair. He then worked at Molex for 18 years. After his retirement from Molex, he became a greeter at Pine Lake Medical Plaza for 13 years and retired in 2014.

His greatest joy in life was his family. He spent countless hours helping his son with motocross, car repairs, coaching football and helping coach his daughters’ softball teams along with attending a myriad of school sporting events. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; son, Scott and wife Cindy of Richmond, Texas; daughters, Vicki and husband Vaughn Duncan of Gibbon and Cindi and husband Brent Bjorkman of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Kaylee and husband Michael Meyer, Jordan and husband Bryce Cudaback, Michael and wife Jennifer McCashland, Kyle and Mitchell McCashland and Megan, Annika and Austin Bjorkman; two great-grandchildren, Kason McCashland and Kora Cudaback; brother, Dick McCashland; sisters, Coryle and husband Tom Cook and Mary and husband Alan Theobald; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Becky Reinsch; aunt, Charlene Brower; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
