Dorothy Elizabeth Cornwell Ellis, 89, of Tampa, beloved wife and mother, went home to be with her Lord December 29, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William St. Clair Ellis Jr.; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her four children, whom she raised in the nurturing and admonition of the Lord, William St. Clair Ellis III (Beverly) of Montgomery, Ala.; Robin Ellis Lamoureux of Tampa; Nina Ellis Snoddy (Bill) of Asheville, N.C.; and Carlyle Cornwell Ellis of Tampa. "Her children rise up and call her blessed." Her surviving sister, Mary Neal Wray, lives in Charlotte, N.C. She also had seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a charter member of Christ Community Church of Tampa, which she attended faithfully until her physical health declined.

Our love and gratitude go to her loyal caregivers, Joanna and Janet, and especially to Cookie, who has faithfully cared for our parents for the past nine years.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, at Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to Christ Community Church or Lifepath Hospice. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
