Agnes Victoria Ackley was born in Louisville, Kentucky, October 4, 1865, the daughter of John and Agnes Bruce Mace. In 1867 her parents moved to Sterling, Iowa, where she was reared and at the age of 18, she came to Chicago, where she lived until about 1930, since which time she has made her home in Arlington Heights with her children.

October 30, 1891 she was married to Lemuel M. Ackley, who in 1921 preceded her in death. Five children were born to her; Estelle Flodin, Herbert F. Ackley, the late Lila Kuhlber and Laura Fritz, all of Arlington Heights and Lemuel M. Ackley, Jr. of Los Angeles. Mrs. Ackley also leaves to mourn, an older
brother, Jesse Mace of Commanche, Iowa, and her twin, Henry H. Mace of Kansas City, Mo., five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and loving friends.

Mrs. Ackley was a member of the Belden ave. Baptist church in Chicago.

Mrs. Ackley died in the Palatine hospital as the result of an automobile accident October 25, 1941, aged 76 years and 21 days.

Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, 2 o'clock, in the Lauterburg and Oshler funeral home, Rev. H.G. McCoy, pastor of Presbyterian church, conducting the service. Internment in Rosehill cemetery.
