Lewis G. “Bud” Arthur, 80, of Monumental, died Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 9, 1936 in Wadestown, a son of the late Alva and Opal Mayfield Arthur.

Bud was a machinist, having retired from Phillips Lighting in Fairmont with many years of service. He loved watching his birds and loved his 2 special dogs, Missy and Sadie. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He had also served his nation in the United States Army Reserves.

Survivors include his 3 children: Keith (Diana) Arthur, Fairview, Kelly Arthur (Mike) Wright, Monumental, and Krystal Arthur (Joel) Tharp, Barrackville; 3 grandchildren: Caleb (Hannah) Colisino, Chelsie Colisino and fiancé Jonathan Bragg, and Travis Tharp; 2 great grandchildren: Jaxon Colisino and Rosalie “Evelyn” Colisino; 2 sisters: Lorraine “Topsy” (Van) Haines, Wadestown and Patricia Tennant, Fairview; a brother-in-law: Earl Russell, Wadestown; and his best friend for many years: Selby Woods.

Bud was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Evelyn Sue Arthur; and 3 siblings: Junior Arthur, Jean Russell and George Arthur.

Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Arthur Family Cemetery on Knotts Run.
