Norman "Red" F. Hansen, 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016 at his home on Hale Road in rural Peshtigo, WI. he was born Oct. 4, 1928 in Milwaukee,WI; the son of the late Norman and Evelyn (Greis) Hansen.

He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1946 and attended UW-Marinette. A very good athlete, he participated in football, basketball and baseball. After high school graduation, he worked for his father at the Keep-U-Neat Cleaners in Peshtigo and also for the United States Postal Service.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in France. After service, he worked in Milwaukee at Adelman's Cleaners before moving to Denver, Colorado where he was employed by Silver State Cleaners and also managed 20 of their plants in the Denver area.

In retirement, he returned to Peshtigo and with his brother, Robert, bought and managed the Drees Motel until October 2006 when they sold the property. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and the Marquette Golden Eagles. An avid hunter, he helped guide elk hunts in western Colorado.

He is survived by a brother, Robert C. Hansen of Waukesha, WI; nephews and nieces, Tim Hansen of Morgan Hill, Ca., Jane Anklam of Superior, Susan Hinze of St. Paul, Mn. and Rob Hansen of Traverse City, Mi.; an aunt, Marian Uecke of Milwaukee; many cousins; eight grand-nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Leora Delgoffe.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, Jan. 7 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 10 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Concelebrating the Mass will be Rev. Fr. Jess Bardol and Rev. Fr. John H. Harper. Burial will be Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
