Lois L. Blair, age 92, passed away at Cottage in the Meadow on October 18, 2016. She was born on April 17, 1924 in Walla Walla, WA, but spent the majority of her life in Yakima.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Harland and Elsie Huff, her brother Fred Huff and sister Betty Sousley.

Mom (Lois) was lovingly known for her freshly baked cookies, daily home-cooked meals, her perpetual smile, her giving nature and her extreme patience. She enjoyed family gatherings, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but most especially her wonderful life with her husband Dale.

Lois told her family that she had picked Dale to be her future husband when they were in high school, and they were married in King City, CA on November 22, 1943 when Dale was in the US Army Air Corp. Lois and Dale had been looking forward to celebrating their 73rd anniversary.

Lois worked with Dale as the bookkeeper at Yakima Telephone Answering Service until the business was sold in 1987 upon their retirement. She enjoyed playing golf at the Yakima Elks and during winter trips to Borrego Springs, CA in the 1990's.

Lois is survived by her husband Dale of Yakima, her sons Doug (Rebecca) of Naches, Rich (Becky) of Yakima, Dennis (Kathy) of Vancouver, WA and her daughter Detta (Lee) of Yakima; five grandchildren, Brett Blair of Naches, Kevin Blair of W. Richland, Jenn Blair of Athens, GA, Bethany Cozad of Utah and Nick Blair of Vancouver, WA, and 5 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Avenue on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 2:00PM.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Memorial hospital and Memorial Hospice for the care they provided during Mom's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations may be made in her name to Memorial Hospice.
