Stephen was born February 14, 1949 in Mecklenburg County NC, the son of Carlyle Summey Cornwell and Mary Ruth Ashbrook Cornwell. Stephen was predeceased by his father and stepfather, Donald S Swope.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss; his wife, Akiyo Settsu Cornwell of Phoenix AZ, his mother, Dr. Mary Ruth Swope of Texas and his sister, Susan Darbro, of Indiana.
Stephen is buried in Springbank Cemetery near Yellowbud, Ross County, Ohio, close to his maternal grandparents, Price W and Margaret L Ashbrook.
