Pfc. Joseph Stanford (Mike) Allen, popular Bedford boy, who lost his life in Germany, March 27. Mike entered the service Sept. 22, 1943, and left for overseas duty June 7, 1944. An infantryman in the Ninth Army, he was killed several days after his division crossed the Rhine. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Allen, East Penn St., he was the husband of the former Grace Daniels, a teacher in the Everett schools. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Merle Shaffer, Mrs. Louise Riggle, Mrs. Henry Messimer and a brother, Clair.
