Funeral services for Oscar L. Dorsey, 80, were conducted this afternoon at 2:30 p. m. at the family home on East Main Street. Mr. Dorsey died at noon Tuesday at his home following an Illness of two years. He served as secretary of the Macoupin County Mutual Fire Insurance Co. for 32 years, and had been at work Monday. He suffered another heart attack Monday evening.
Mr. Dorsey was born April 24, 1871 in Gillespie, a son of the late Olivia and Plutarch Dorsey. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, a member of the Masons and Shriners and a member of the Macoupin County Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Oella Dorsey; one sister, Maria Dorsey, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mayo Dorsey, all of Carlinville.
The Rev. W. W. Swift, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiated.
Burial was in Mayfield Memorial cemetery.
