A NATIVE GONE TO FINAL REST

Edward Henderson, representing the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties, died suddenly about 5 o'clock Wednesday morning at the family home on South Stewart street this city. It was assumed that his death was due to an acute attack of indigestion, but the physician who made observations after death certified that the fatal malady was "influenza heart block."

Surviving to mourn him are his wife and young son, a brother, Alden Henderson and his mother of Stockton. Court Sonora No 128 F of A conducted the services at the house and the Tuolumne Parlor No 144 NSGW at the grave at the IOOF cemetery.

Edward was the son of Edward Henderson and Ophelia Mary Ray. He was the step-son of William Swerer of Tuttletown.

He worked at the Sonora post office and then for many years worked for Mary Gross at the hotel in Tuttletown. The death of Mary Gross preceded Edward's by only a few hours.

Edward was also a sales representative of Singer Sewing Machines and had been demonstrating at Melones the previous day.

Edward had also worked at the Standard factory.

He grew up in Springfield, California
