Viola G. Nipper, 100, of Piney Flats died Friday morning at her residence. Mrs. Nipper was a native of Carter County and had lived most of her life in Sullivan County. She was a daughter of the late Landon and Dollie Honeycutt Gouge. Mrs. Nipper was a homemaker and a member of the River of Life Church. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Lon B. Nipper in 1973; a daughter, Marcella Myers; and a grandson, Richard Myers.

Survivors include: a son, L.B. Nipper of Arcadia, FL; two granddaughters, Karen Ann and husband David Snyder of New Albany, Indiana and Betty and husband John Farmer of Greeneville; three great grandsons, Brad Myers of Mosheim, Timothy Myers of Mosheim and Chris Johns of Johnson City; two special nieces, Draper Heaton of Roan Mountain, TN and Dottie Shifflet of Green Bay, VA: a special nephew, Bob Gouge of Kingsport.

The funeral service for Viola G. Nipper will be conducted at 1 PM Monday, May 7, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Donnie Humphrey and Rev. Reed Mullins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Sunday evening.
