Signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as an amateur free agent in 1950, he marked his Major League debut with the Phillies on April 16, 1956. In 1957 he produced a career-high 63 hits, as he served as a backup to Rip Repulski in right field. During the 1959 season, he pitched in five games out of the bullpen. In 256 games, he compiled 129 hits, with a lifetime .249 batting average. After retiring from baseball, he worked for a liquor distributor.
