Charles was the son of Charles Karcher and Mary Craig. About 1946 he married Martha Middleton and they had two daughters, Jerrie and Martha. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and worked at the Naval Ordnance Plant in Louisville for 16 years. Charles was dead on arrival at St. Anthony Hospital after suffering a heart attack at his home, 10810 National Turnpike. He was 45 years old.
