Son of Willard Joseph (Belair) Blair and Ida Mae (Lamica). Lloyd was predeceased by all nine of his siblings: Verden Alvin Blair, Lucille Mae (Blair) Tebo, Helen Marie (Blair) Perry, Lila Sarah (Blair) Wilson Lamay, Willard Norman Blair, infant sister Norma Veronica Blair, Elroy Carlton Blair, Wallace Gerald Blair, and Rolland "Ronnie" Kenneth Blair. Lloyd was also a half-brother to ten others, who were the children of his father's previous two marriages to Anabel (Stacy) and Eva M. (Yando): Lawrence Charles, Edward F., Wilford or Wilfred Carlton, George Elmer, Burton F., Daniel James, Floyd, Raymond Noah, Elvin Sydney, and Beulah Myrtle.

He first married Evelyn Irene (Main) in August 1955 in Connecticut. They had three sons, Lloyd Allen, Kenneth W., and Bryann L., before divorcing in 1972 in Connecticut.

He later married Milagros "Millie" (Emilian). They had one son, Daniel Scott Blair.
