Katherine M. Schlenk Demeans Hoffmann was born May 9, 1874 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, one of the children of Arnold Schlenk and Katherine “Kate” Scully Schlenk. About 1894 in Philadelphia she married H. George Hoffmann from Kentucky, and they had three children: John A. Hoffmann, Katherine M. Hoffmann Martin, and Carl T. Hoffmann. After living in New Jersey for a time, the couple moved back to Philadelphia. On June 24, 1952 Katherine passed away at the age of 78 in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania and is probably buried near her parents in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Philadelphia. Katherine’s heritage was Irish and German. I hope someone will add her photo to this site.
