John was the son of William McGaughey and Lula Bishop. On 05 Jun 1971 he married Gertrude Senn Yates, a widower. Prior to that marriage he had been married before and had two children from that marriage, Richard and William. He was an Army veteran and a retired sheet-metal worker for American Synthetic Rubber Corp. John died at Clark Memorial Hospital at the age of 89.
