Allen was the son of Willard Wardrip and Hazel Hess. On 05 Jun 1971 he married Susan Sellars and they had two daughters, Dina and Jill. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a press operator at General Electric Co. Allen died at his home at the age of 50.
