Harold I. Doolittle
The death of Harold Ivan Doolittle occurred at his late home here early Friday morning, November 26, following an illness of about two months.
He was born in Middlefield, Otsego County, March 16, 1898.  He became a resident of this village about 25 years ago.
Mr. Doolittle was a member of the Baptist Church in Cooperstown.  The I.O.O.F. Lodge of Cherry Valley, an active members of the Cherry Valley Volunteer Fire Department and the past fire chief, a member of the Cherry Valley Fish and Game Club and for several years a member of the Cherry Valley Water Board.  He was custodian at the Cherry Valley Central School at the time he became ill.
Surviving relatives are his wife, the former Miss marguerite Lane, three daughters, Mrs. Harold Utter of this village, Mrs. Walter Jarvis of Cooperstown and Mrs. Gary Devenpeck of Hawthorne, Calif.  Also four grandchildren and one step-sister, Mrs. George Cooper of Milford, Four step-brothers, Horace Cornish of Milford, Norman and William Cornish of Oneonta and Douglas Cornish of Albany, and an aunt, Mrs. Belle Doolittle of Schenevus.
The I.O.O.F. funeral services were held at Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, Sunday evening at 8 o'clock.
Rev. Charles M. Falton of Richfield Springs, former pastor of the First Methodist Church in Cherry Valley, officiated at the funeral Monday, November 19, at 2 p.m. Burial was made in the Cherry Valley Cemetery.
