CHERRYVILLE - A D Carpenter, 97, was born Dec. 19, 1919 and died March 13, 2017. A D was a truck driver for many years for himself along with Carolina Freight.

He loved farming and fishing at Carolina Beach and the outer banks.

He served in the US Army from 1941-1943.

Member of Dallas Masonic Lodge #263 and member of Puett United Methodist Church both for over 60 years.

In addition to his parents, Mason and Carrie Mauney Carpenter, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Thomas Carpenter; daughter, Patricia Gail Carpenter and his brothers and sisters.

Services: Puett United Methodist Church on Friday
