[Our dad] entered into rest Thursday, March 16, 2017, Mr Richard Frederick Woodward, 83, loving husband of 52 years to Valeria Loroscopi Woodward...was a native of Detroit, Michigan...was the son of the late Beulah Frederick and Lloyd Woodward. Helived in Columbia County for the last 47 years. He was retired with 27 years of service in the US Army. He served three tours to Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He then worked as a civil service instructor at the Signal Tower, Fort Gordon. Mr Woodward was a Free and Accepted Mason of Martinez Lodge 710, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and Alee Shriner Legion of Honor.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include daughters Monica and Deborah; grandchildren Joshua and Sydney; Great granddaughter Ashlyn; Sister Judy Rogers and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Lutheran Pastor David Hunter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginningat 1:00 pm at Bellevue.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
