Singer. He was a member of the musical group Parliament-Funkadelic or P-Funk. Parliament is a funk band that was most prominent during the 1970's. Born in Baltimore, he started on the road with Bootsy’s Rubber Band and in the studio with P-Funk in 1976. Prior to his joining Bootsy’s Rubber Band and P-Funk, he played with local bands in the Baltimore area. He became a key part of two of the greatest funk acts of all time. His voice drove forward Bootsy’s Rubber Band and later Parliament-Funkadelic. He took over vocal duties for the band on the road when Bootsy retired from touring with P-Funk in 1976. R&B singles include "Flash Light" in 1977 and "Aqua Boogie" in 1978; albums include "The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein" (1976), "Funkentelechy verses the Placebo Syndrome" (1977) and "Motor Booty Affair" (1978). He had been ill for some time and was on a ventilator in his final days.
