Wallace Arnold Payne, 2532 Fairview Rd., died Monday at a local hospital.
Survivors; wife, Mrs. Mildred Baswell Payne; daughter, Mrs. Candi Payne Browning, Gadsden; sons, Mickey Arnold, Jerry Wallace, Jim and Christopher Payne, all of Gadsden; mother, Mrs. Evie Payne, Gadsden.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Crestwood Cemetery with the Rev.Gary G.McDaniel officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Ed Christopher, Memorial Lodge 904 F & AM. Other survivors; son-in-law, Bill Browning, Gadsden; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kim Bullok Payne, Gadsden; granddaughters, Sharee and Emily Payne; brother, S.L. Payne, Lone Star, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Wright, Mrs Mildred Singleton, Mrs. Tera Blythe, Mrs. Josephine Johnson, Mrs. Jackie Bedwell, all of Gadsden, Mrs. Adelle Aldridge, Arab, Mrs. Jill Higgins, Leesburg, Mrs. Sarah Snead, Centre.
Active pallbearers, Thomas Smith, Mike Huey, Randy Mayo, Bill Merrill, Charles Simonton, Larry Smith. Honorary pallbearers: Drs. Todd Cross, John Keeling and Griffith R.Harsh III, Neurology Staff UAB, members of Local 498 Plumbers and Pipefitters and special friend, Billie Ann Jordan. Mr. Payne was a native of Cherokee County and a resident of Etowah County most of his life. He was a retired plumber with T.V.A. Scottsboro.
The body will remain at the funeral home until the hour of service. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today.
