Gothenburg Times, December 8, 2004: Eva M. Anderson, 93, of Cozad, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad, with Jeremy Jech of the Cozad Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at the Cottonwood Cemetery northeast of Cozad. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday (today), at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Anderson was born on Dec. 2, 1911, east of Cozad, to Robert and Myrtle Hoffman McCance. She had attended several schools and graduated from Cozad High School. During her younger years she and her sisters formed a musical group, playing for various functions and on the radio. In 1932, she married Ed Groenewold and the couple made their home on a farm site north of Cozad. Following a divorce, she married Donald C. Nichelson in 1938. The couple had made their home north of Cozad. Her husband preceded her death in 1969. She later married Archie "Swede" Anderson, who had died in 1982. Anderson was employed as a cook at the Cozad Hospital, and she was a member of the Cozad Christian Church. She enjoyed attending garage sales, restoring antiques, reading, gardening and collecting music, according to family members. Anderson was preceded in death by: husbands---Donald Nichelson in 1969, and Archie Anderson in 1982; two great-grandsons---Jeffrey Andrews and Colton Thayer; four sisters---Enid, Era, Erma and Elmo; a brother Robert. Survivors include: three sons---Raymond (Geri) Groenewold of Farnam, Dick Nichelson and Don (Sandy) Nichelson, all of Cozad; a daughter, Louise Hintz or Cozad; sister, Eula Waller of Florida; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial has been established.
