Priscilla Alice (Harter) Ries was the daughter of Rev. Elmer Ellsworth and Priscilla Alice (Ray) Harter, Sr. She was the half-sister of Mary Emma (Harter) Miller. She attended Hollidaysburg High School and graduated from Carlisle High School. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh about 1928. She was a French teacher/Oakmont Public School. She was the 2nd wife of Emil Otto Ries. They were married September 29, 1947. Emil died April 1966. She and Emil lived at Arlington Apartments, Center & Aiken, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Alice died of dehydration at Canterbury Place Nursing Home, 310 Fisk St., Pittsburgh.
