Robert Bruce Wilcox passed away peacefully on October 8, 2015 in Yakima, WA at the age of 93. Bob was born in Yakima and was a lifetime resident of the Yakima Valley. He grew up on the family farm in Parker Heights. After graduating from Wapato High School, he finished two years at Washington State University. At that time, WWII was in full swing so he enlisted in the Air Force where he was still in pilot training when the war ended.

Bob then returned home where, with the help of his father, he rented 40 acres and began his lifelong dream of farming. He married his sweetheart, Maxene McDonald, and they had 3 sons. Bob worked hard, and as the boys grew up and helped on the farm, those 40 acres grew to 700.

His greatest pleasure was going to the mountains with Maxene and the boys, whether skiing, hunting, fishing, boating or camping. As his boating dreams grew, so did the boat, and he and Maxene acquired a vacation home at Shelter Bay near the San Juan Islands so they could cruise and fish the Sound. He and Maxene also enjoyed their cabin at Rimrock Lake. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Maxene McDonald Wilcox, and his son, Doug. He is survived by two sons, Ken (Kim) of Yakima and Mike (Pam) of Selah, and grandchildren Curtis, Thomas, Kylee and Tyler.

As per his request, there will be no services.
