Lina (Nissila) Colalillo, grandma, 81, of Duluth, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 30, 1925 in Floodwood, Minn., to William and Edla (Salo) Nissila. She married Michael Colalillo, a Medal of Honor recipient, in November of 1945. She worked at Montgomery Wards for 21 years in the office and as a clerk. She also worked at Target as a cashier in the grocery dept. Lina enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and taking care of her grandkids and her loving dog, Marley. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joanne Colalillo; five sisters, and three brothers. Lina is survived by her husband, Michael; son, Al (Terry) of Hayward, Wisc.; daughter, Michele 'Shelly' (Rodger) Schneeberger of Meadowlands, Minn.; sister, Elsie (Sid) Johnson of Indiana; two grandchildren, Nick Bakken and Mike Colalillo; three great grandchildren, Mike Colalillo II, Daijia and Dilin Bakken. VISITATION:5 to 7 p.m. Friday in Dougherty Funeral Home and continuing 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service all in Dougherty Funeral Home. Interment at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Luke's Hospice. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805, 218-727-3555.
