Job M. Reigoux, 30, U.S. Army staff sergeant, was killed in action on Saturday, June 1, 2013 in Afghanistan, Ghazni Province. Job was born in Austin, Texas on April 15, 1983 to Reuben Reigoux-Rios and Maria E. Guevara. He briefly attended William B. Travis High School but graduated from Echelon Charter School in 2001. He resided in Austin, TX; Schweinfurt, Germany; Ft. Drum, NY; and Ft. Stewart, GA. He began military service stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany from Feb. 2006 to Oct. 2009. He served in Iraq from Sept. 2006 to Nov. 2007, with a second deployment Nov. 2008 to Oct. 2009. From Feb. 2010 to Jan. 2011 he was stationed at Ft Drum, NY and from June 2011 to June 2013 he was stationed at Ft Stewart, GA. His final deployment was to Afghanistan with 3/69 Armor Regiment beginning October 2012. Job received a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star during his service to his country. As a teen, Job was never one to follow the crowd. People who didn't know him well would probably have considered him to be a quiet kid and he wasn't interested in being popular. He would often spend his free time working with his dad and fixing up classic sports cars. After graduating, our brother held many jobs in retail and it was at one of these jobs that he met his future wife, Erica. Not long after their marriage, Job enlisted in the Army. This is when people outside of our family truly got to know, respect and love the man we always knew him to be. Job had a kind heart and generous spirit. He would not hesitate to give anything he had, whether it was a material possession or just a shoulder to lean on, when he saw a family member or friend was in need. Job was smart and regularly subjected us to his sarcastic but hilarious sense of humor. He loved to goof around and didn't take himself too seriously. We will always remember how important it was to him that his family remain close and supportive of one another. Job is survived by: his wife, Erica Santiago, and two children, Seth and Maddison Reigoux; parents Reuben Reigoux-Rios and Maria E Guevara; sisters Angelica M. Moreno and Carmen M. Reigoux; brother Saul Reigoux; nephews Elias M. Leyendecker, Xavier Reigoux, Isaac Reigoux and Marcel Garcia; father-in-law Dagoberto Santiago; mother-in-law Luz E. Santiago; brothers-in-law Dagoberto Jr. and Victoria Santiago, and Jason Santiago; four uncles; one aunt; and several cousins. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. Funeral Service 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Christian Life Church, 4700 West Gate Blvd., Austin, TX. Interment will follow with full military honors. - Published in Austin American-Statesman
