Glenn graduated from Peshtigo High School and from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, majoring in Accounting. He was a member of the honorary accounting fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi, and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
In 1950, after they both graduated from the University, he married his college sweetheart, Auralia Buscher, at “Press House,” the University Presbyterian Church.
Glenn’s first job took them to the Studebaker Corporation, in South Bend, Ind. Three years later, he served as comptroller for Lewis Container Corporation in Colby, Wis., and later Wausau, Wis. This company merged to become Packaging Corporation of America, which precipitated his being transferred to the home office as Manager of Administrative Systems, Evanston, Ill.
Throughout Glenn’s life, he had been actively engaged in supporting his community. While in Wausau, he served on the Girl Scouts Board of Directors, receiving their highest “Thanks” award for revising their accounting system.
In Illinois he served as Elder, Trustee, Deacon and Financial Secretary for the Community Presbyterian Church. For the past 20 years he had served as the Treasurer of the Marinette Lions Club, playing an integral role in developing their Annual Sports Dinner. In recognition for his dedication to humanitarian services, he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award, which is granted by Lions International, and from the State Lions he received the Birch Sturm Fellowship award. As a member of the Pioneer Presbyterian Church, he had served on the Finance Committee. Glenn was a kind and gentle man with a strong faith in God, a great sense of humor, a sharp mind (a Suduko or crossword puzzle was usually in his jacket pocket), he enjoyed the company of others and he enjoyed music of all genres.
