--------------------------------------------
An unidentified man about 50 years of age was struck and instantly killed yesterday morning at 10:15 by east bound Southern Pacific train No. 10 near Tropico. The man was walking east on the tracks and failed to heed the warning of the approaching train. Three dollars in money was found on his person and a slip from the Old National Bank of Spokane signed by J. A. Yoemans, cashier, showing that George Hassett had deposit a draft at that bank. Whether this is the man's name or not is uncertain. The train was in charge conductor Wengle and Engineer John Howe. The body was taken to Pierce Brothers morgue.
