Comic Book Artist. In a career spanning over 65 years, he was noted for his comic book drawings for various publications, most prominently Archie Comics. He began his career in the late 1930s, working animation for Demby Studios. In 1940, he started doing some funny animal cartoons for Dell and Timely Comics. His earliest contributions were to the titles 'Judge Owl's Fables', 'Squoimy the Woim', 'Bumbie' and 'Cubby the Bear'. In 1942, he joined Archie Comics and drew the funny animal strips for the first issue of Archie Comics dated early 1943. He soon began drawing all the Archie characters and created the character named ‘Li'l Jinx' in 1947. Edwards kept producing Jinx comic material well into the 1970s. Working for Archie through the 1980s, he produced most of the short gag strips featuring Archie characters. In the 1990s, he wrote and drew Archie characters for newspaper comic strips printed nationally and internationally.
