BRIDGEPORT - Zoe Annette Wallace, 77, of 404 Scott St., died Sunday morning March 22, 1998, at United Hospital Center.
She was born Aug. 21, 1920, in Woodrow, Ark., a daughter of the late William Edgar McCray and Frankie Florence Hart McCray.
Her husband, William Edward Wallace, whom she married June [January] 18, 1942, preceded her in death on March 27, 1981.
Surviving are one daughter, Bridgeport; one son, Dr. William E. Wallace and his wife, Morgantown; five grandchildren, granddaughter and grandson, both of Morgantown, granddaughter, grandson and grandson, all of Bridgeport.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Edgar McCray and Franklin Lee McCray.
Mrs. Wallace was co-owner of Wallace Oil Company with her husband. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the Rachael Guild, Queen Ester Chapter 11, Order of Eastern Star, the Ladies Oriental Shrine, Greater Federation of Women's Club of Bridgeport, the Bridgeport American Legion Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Clarksburg Altrusa Club and a life member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens Center, where she had served on the planning committee.
Friends will be received from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, Bridgeport. The body will be moved to St. Mark's Lutheran Church to lie in state one hour before the 11 a.m. service time on Thursday, with the Rev. James L. Caton officiating. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
