Lena Cree Fox Cowell, 91, of 545 Bridge Street, Waynesburg, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 1986, in her home.
She was born December 25, 1894, in Cumberland Township, daughter of the late William E. and Annie Eberhart Cree.
She lived her entire life in Greene County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg and the Jewell Sunday school class.
She was known for her quilting skills. She had received at least 700 awards and ribbons for her work.
Her first husband, Grover Cleveland Fox, died October 21, 1921. Her second husband, Charles Cowell, died October 21, 1953.
She is survived by a son, daughter, and two grandsons.
Deceased are an infant son, a sister and two brothers.
