Opera Singer. Giuseppe Valdengo was an Italian operatic baritone who is most remembered for his performances in 3 historic radio broadcasts with the NBC orchestra under Arturo Toscani conducting: Otello (1947, as Iago), Aida (1949, as Amonasro), and Falstaff (1950, as the title role). (All of these operas were performed in concert versions.) The Toscanini Aida (with Herva Nelli in the name part) was simulcast on both television and radio, one of the first instances of such an event, and the video of the telecast has been released commercially.
