John S. Temple. Loma Linda, San Bernardino County. John S. Temple brother of Shirley Temple Black, died yesterday at Loma Linda University Medical Center after a stroke. He was 70.
Mr. Temple, who lived in Lake Elsinore, San Bernardino County, had been director of development at Glendale Memorial Hospital. Before that, he worked as a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for 21 years.
A native of Santa Monica, he was graduated from Stanford University and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Shirley Black, who lives in Woodside, is a foreign affairs officer for the State Department. She is a former child movie star and one-time ambassador to Ghana.
Mr. Temple also leaves his wife, Miriam; two sons John S. Temple Jr. of Lake Elsinore and Robert S. Temple of Hawaii; a brother, George F. Temple Jr. of Lagunna Hills, and eight grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held by the immediate family.
