"ROCHELLE SCHOOL FORMS GLEE CLUB
Rochelle, Nov. 4. - Mrs. Byrd Richey, director said the Rochelle High school glee club was organized Friday afternoon with a membership of 55.

Practice has been arranged for each Wednesday. Mrs. Richey said several concerts are arranged for the fall and winter.

The following officers were elected, Ida Roxie Dix, president; Mignon Bussell, vice president; Doris Garrison, treasurer; and Mildred Braziel, secretary."

"MISS IDA ROXIE DIX IF BRIDE OF LIEUTENANT ROBERT G. VICK
Announcement is made today by Mr. and Mrs. Marion Thomas Dix of the marriage of their daughter, Ida Roxie, to Lt. (j.g.)Robert Gardner Vick, United States Coast Guard, the wedding having taken place Saturday, April 29, at St. Timothy's Episcopal church in Baltimore, Md. The bride is a Yeoman 3-C in the WAVES, stationed in Washington, D.C.

The Rev. William Welton Shearer officiated. Mrs. J.M Mann organist, presented a program of nuptial music.

Marion Andrews, WAVE of Washington, D.C., and Emporium, Pa., served as the maid of honor.

The bride entered with Clyde Melville Vick, cousin of the groom, who gave her in marriage. The bride wore the WAVE white summer uniform. They were met at the altar by the bridegroom and Lt. (j.g.) William A. Tutton, United Sates Coast Guard, of Baltimore, Md., who attended as best man.

Immediately following the ceremony, Mrs. Ella Vick honored the wedding couple with a reception at her home in Catonsville, Md. Later the couple for for a wedding trip to Virginia Beach, Va.

The out-of-town guests for the wedding were: Dr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Vic, parents of the groom, of Jenkinjones, W.Va., Miss Doris Tramblay, Wichita, Kas., and Miss Helen Schmidt, Crookston, Minn.

The bride is the younger daughter of her parents and after graduating from Rochelle High school, attended Georgia Sate Woman's College, Valdosta. Later she was associated with the Prudential Insurance Company in their branch office in Birmingham, Ala. She joined the WAVES in September, 1943, going to Hunter College, New York, and Stillwater, Okla., before being assigned to the Navy Department, Washington, D.C.

The bride's mother is the former Miss Blanche Morrison, daughter of the late William Hendley Morrison and Ida Robertson Morrison, Jesup. Her paternal grandparents were John Thomas Dix and Roxie McCall Dix of Abbeville. Her only sister sister is Mrs. Hugh Carter of Birmingham, Ala. Her only brother is Theron W. Dix, United States Army, now stationed at Camp Siebert, Ala.

Lieutenant (j.g.) Vick is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Clyde W. Vick of Jenkinjones, W.Va.

Lieutenant (j.g.) Vick received his engineering degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute at Blacksburg, Va. Before entering active service in the armed forces he was associated with the Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railway Company in Birmingham, Ala.

He is a brother of Miss Eugenia Vick, Richmond, Va., Lieut (j.g.)Clyde W. Vick, Jr., and pvt. George W. Vick.

The bride is now a visitor at the home of her husbands' parents, at Jenkinjones."

She was accompanied to Richmond, Va., by Mrs. C.W. Vick, where the two will visit the latter's daughter, Miss Eugenia Vick, for a few days."

MRS. IDA ROXIE VICK, 70, of Birmingham died Friday. She was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, Alabama Writers Conclave and Shades Valley Toastmistresses, attended Georgia State College for Women, Valdosta, Ga., and was a WAVE in the Navy.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Elmwood, Valley Chapel directing. Survivors: husband, Robert G. Vick; son, Robert G. Vick Jr.; daughter, Mrs. Jean Chase; sister, Mrs. Carolynne Carter, all of Birmingham."
