Betty Sue Kelems Harris, 80, of Jonesboro died Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born April 7, 1937, at Black Oak, Arkansas, to James Lyn & Elsie Faye (Massey) Stephens.

She had been an orchard farmer in California, and was of the Freewill Baptist belief. She loved working puzzles, playing bingo, poetry, and thrift shopping, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ernest Kelems; one son, Dane Kelems; one daughter, Carol Kelems; and a brother, Sonny Stephens.

She is survived by one son, Bland Kelems of Cove, Arkansas; one daughter, Mary (Steve) Penebaker of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; her brother, Darrell Stephens of Jonesboro; four sisters, Carolyn Fisher and Linda Miller, both of Jonesboro, Helen Nancy of Bay, and Donna Harless of Peggs, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, May 4, at Roller-Farmers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Pine Log Cemetery at Brookland.

There will be a visitation Wednesday, May 3, 6:00-8:00pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Ave., Jonesboro.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Quesada, Neil Kelems, Robert Adams, Brandon Lynch, Max Penebaker, and Dasean Kelems. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Miller and Gunner Miller.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward Mrs. Betty's memorial marker in her memory to Foster's Monuments, 11656 Hwy 49, Brookland, AR 72417.
