"F. G. Brown of Troy, NY, died in his residence in that city on the 28th, after an illness of only a few days. Mr. Brown was born in Stephentown in Aug., 1833. At the age of 20 he came to Troy and entered business. After about two years he connected himself with Jonas Heartt & Co., then extensively engaged in the stove and hardware business. He remained with this firm about 25 years until it dissolved, when he became a member of the firm Howe & Co., who succeeded. Mr. Brown remained with this firm until a few years ago, when the Alexander Banker he entered the Troy File Company with whom he has since continued."
