Ed resided in the Marinette area all of his life and was a graduate of Marinette Catholic Central High School. He also attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
He had been employed for a number of years at the Menominee Boiler Works and was currently employed by Winsert in Marinette, working as a CNC operator.
Ed always enjoyed outdoor activities and especially liked golf, camping, and boating, as well as watching any sporting event. He always took pride in his yard work and landscaping his property.
Ed is survived by one son Michael Oehler;
one daughter, Kate Oehler (fiancé, Joey Schmidt);
the mother of his children, Mary (Vieth) Oehler, all of Marinette, WI;
one granddaughter, Mya Bero;
one brother, Brian (Mary Jane) Oehler of Nekoosa, Wis.;
four sisters: Barbara Oehler of Marinette, WI; Marjean Jozaitis of Menominee, MI; Virginia Knoeck of Wausau, WI and Bette Harbick of Marinette, WI;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Marion Oehler.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette on Saturday, May 20th, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow with the Reverend Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
