Miss Meade was born in Minetto, and resided in Mexico for many years.
She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Pauline (Fletcher) Meade.
She was a veteran of the US Air Force, and served in the Air Force Women's Band, which performed at the inauguration of President Eisenhower.
She was a 15-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as a past Matron.
Miss Meade was a 43-year member of the American Legion Post #358. She had formerly served as the Post Commander, and as the American Legion County Commander.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the NYS Department of Transportation.
She had formerly worked as a bus driver for the Mexico School District, and had also worked for McFee Ambulance.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Brunhouse of South Carolina; three sons, John Ruckdeschel of Cicero, Gordon Ruckdeschel of Syracuse, and David Ruckdeschel of Camillus; a sister, Martha Meade of Minetto; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Bonnie Kean of Minetto.
She was predeceased by her companion, Teddy Ruckdeschel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Minetto United Methodist Church.
Spring burial will be in Minetto Cemetery.
