Actor. He was well known for his career in both films and television that span from the 1960s to the early 21st Century. After a stint in the United States Army where he played football and competed on the track team, he attended Texas Southern University. After attending college for awhile, he decided to move to California to pursue an acting career. After three years of acting classes and performing in community plays, he landed his first acting role in the 1968 film "Uptight" He would go on to perform in numerous films during his career with such credits as "Blacula" (1972), "Maurie" (1973), "Mandingo" (1975), "Bound for Glory" (1976), "Bachelor Party" (1984), "Brewster's Millions" (1985), "Outrageous Fortune" (1987), and "Harlem Nights" (1989). He made his television debut in 1968 with an appearance on the television series "It Takes a Thief". He would go on to appear in such television series as "Daniel Boone", "Night Gallery", "Ironside", "Kojak", "The Streets of San Francisco", "Roots", "Young Dan'l Boone", "A Man Called Sloane", "The A-Team", "MacGyver", "Matlock", "Knots Landing", "In the Heat of the Night", and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". He passed away after a long illness.
