Mary Lynne Gale Johnson, 76, of Springville, UT, returned home to the loving presence of her Heavenly Father and Savior on June 30, 2017. She dearly missed her husband, Ken Putman Johnson (1942-1976), who preceded her in death. Mary Lynne's family is comforted by the hope that Ken welcomed her beyond the veil. Mary Lynne is survived by her four children: Colleen Curtis (Clyne), Laurlyn Berry (Brent), Sean Johnson and Michael Johnson (Kari); 22 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and her brother, David Harvey Gale (Sylvia).

Mary Lynne was born on June 18, 1941 to Flossie Mitchell and David Cyrus Gale in Los Angeles, California. She had fond memories of growing up in Eagle Rock, CA, visiting her grandmother Mitchell in Long Beach, and making weekend trips to Three Rivers near the Sequoia National Forest. Mary Lynne graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1959 where she was an officer in the Service and Spirit Clubs and where she made life-long friends. Mary Lynne married the love of her life, Ken Johnson, in 1960. The couple settled in La Crescenta, a suburb of Los Angeles and welcomed 4 children into their family over the following 9 years.

After meeting with missionaries and much study and prayer, Mary Lynne felt inspired to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in 1973 (Ken returned to his faith and baptized his wife and two daughters at that time). She served faithfully in various positions in the Primary, Sunday School, Young Women's, and Relief Society throughout her life until health no longer allowed. One of her favorite callings was as a visiting teacher where she also developed lasting friendships.

When her husband Ken passed away at the untimely age of 33, Mary Lynne returned to school and work. She earned her associate degree at Glendale Community College. As a young widow she began to provide for her family. Mary Lynne moved her family to Orem, Utah and began work for Print Services at Brigham Young University in 1978 where she was employed for the next 30 years. Mary Lynne became an avid, true-blue, cougar fan.

Mary Lynne will be remembered as a devoted wife, brave widow, loving mother and caring friend.
