Actor. He is remembered for playing 'Desk Sergeant Ronald Coleman' during the entire run of the TV series "Cagney and Lacey" (1981 to 1988). Additionally, he had the distinction of playing the recurring part of 'Judge Alan Ridenour' in "Law and Order," and the spin-offs "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit". Born to parents of Russian-Jewish descent, his first experience in acting was during his high school years. After a period as a real estate agent, his gravitation back to acting began with Canadian television, prior to landing small parts in such pictures as "Silver Streak" (1976), "Meatballs" (1979) and "Atlantic City" (1980). He was also known for his voice work in many animated programs including the "Mario Brothers" series.
