Mary Harris died at the residence of her son in law, Capt. J.A. Hubbard, Tennessee Prairie, Kansas, September 3, 1887, aged 92 years, 3 months and 21 days. Her maiden name was Mary Yates and her native place, Adair County, Kentucky, but she passed much of her life in Bond County, Illinois until 1878 when she went to Kansas. She was twice married, first to Alexander Hinneman, who after ten years passed home. Then to Thomas Harris who came to Kansas with her and passed on to rest in 1880.
