Marlin Lynn Rarey, 79, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Columbus, passed away at 10:29 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at The Villages Hospice House in The Villages, Florida.

Mr. Rarey was born September 23, 1936, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Todd Roslyn Rarey and Stella Izella Graham. He married Shirley Ann Myers November 11, 1956. She preceded him in death March 19, 1985. He married Kwi Cha Percifield January 17, 1987.

Mr. Rarey graduated from Columbus High School in 1956 and served six years with the Indiana National Guard, from 1954 to 1960. He worked for Cummins Engine Company for 46 years and retired September 1, 2003.

Survivors include his wife, Kwi Cha; his daughter, Debra Ann Grider of Butlerville; sons, Rickie Lynn Rarey of Arizona and Mark Steven (Susan) Rarey of North Vernon; a stepdaughter, Yun Hui of Colorado; a brother, Thomas Powers, and a sister, Mae Scott of Kentucky. Mr. Rarey had 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Shirley Rarey; his sister, Stella Adell Skaggs; and two brothers, Ray Ogle and Lyndel Powers.

An open house and celebration of life gathering is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Donner Park.
